Originally from Perth and a founding member of the Drones, James McCann has created a record that seamlessly encompasses the whole Australian
independent sound from beginning to end. Like a trip through the swamp starting in folky wandering ballads, continually growing and winding until
reaching the wildest and most sonic sounds reminiscent of the Scientists.
James is now based in Melbourne, Australia, playing regularly with his band and getting a great response to their live shows. James’s song writing is a
natural progression firmly embedded in his past. He has rallied the Australian pub rock circuit with former bands as diverse as Harpoon, Gutterville Splendour Six, Nunchukka Superfly and Lowdorados.
Last Night I Met The Devil features a bonus 25 minutes of rare material unavailable anywhere else. This album is the culmination of twenty years’ writing and performing music, the first release from one of Australia’s strongest songwriters. It encompasses the ever developing spirit ofAustralian song writing while embracing shadows of times past. This is rock’n’roll at its rawest and most brutally honest. On Last night I met the
Devil James is joined by members of the Drones, Bloodloss and Crow.
This record was strongly recommended by Spencer P Jones himself. Do we need to say more?
